Terms and conditions

I believe that openness and clarity are essential in building a strong therapeutic relationship. These terms and conditions are here to ensure you have a clear understanding of how I work, what you can expect from me, and what I will ask of you in return. My aim is to be straightforward about practical matters such as confidentiality, cancellations and fees, so there are no hidden surprises.

By setting out these details in advance, we create a foundation of trust and mutual respect. If anything in this agreement is unclear, I encourage you to ask questions so we can discuss it together.

Session Details:

Duration: 50 minutes per session.
Initial Assessment: Required prior to starting counselling.
Late Payment: Payments over 36 hours late incur a £10 fee.
Fee Range: Sessions typically cost £55. Reduced-fee sessions are available for those on a low income—please get in touch to discuss eligibility.
Payment: Payable on the day of the session.
Fee Changes: Advance notice will be provided.

Cancellations:

48-hour notice required.
Missed appointments must be paid in full before further sessions.

Confidentiality:

Sessions and records are confidential per GDPR 2018.
Exceptions include client requests, risk of harm, or legal requirements.
Anonymised information may be shared during professional supervision.

Data Protection:

Right to access and correct records.
Secure storage of records, retained for seven years.

Termination:

Either party can terminate anytime; discussion recommended for proper closure.

Complaints:

Handled according to the BACP's Ethical Framework (www.bacp.co.uk).
