Counselling in Farnborough and online

When anxiety and overwhelm begin to affect how you see yourself

You may be managing work, relationships or family life while feeling anxious, stuck or exhausted underneath. Counselling can offer space to slow down, understand what is happening and find a way forward at your pace.

You might be carrying more than people realise

You do not need a diagnosis, a crisis or a clear explanation before coming to counselling. Sometimes the starting point is simply knowing that something does not feel right.

People often get in touch when they are coping outwardly but struggling inwardly.

You may be caught in overthinking, rumination or expecting the worst. Negative self-talk, shame or a loss of confidence can make it difficult to trust yourself.

Work, family life or change may feel overwhelming. You might find emotions difficult to understand, feel or express, while earlier experiences continue to affect your relationships in the present.

Anxiety, low mood or grief can also leave you feeling unlike yourself. Whatever is bringing you here, we can begin with what feels most important now.

Counselling without needing all the answers

We begin with what feels most important to you. Sometimes we may focus on what is happening now; at other times, we may gently explore earlier experiences, relationships or patterns that still affect you.

My approach is integrative and relational. I offer warmth, steadiness and curiosity, and I can gently challenge when that may be helpful. There is no pressure to tell your story in a particular order or to move faster than feels right.

If therapy has felt difficult or unsafe before, we can talk openly about what you need from the relationship and take time to build trust.

Practical details

I offer 50-minute counselling sessions face-to-face in Farnborough, Hampshire, and online across the UK. Sessions cost £60.

A free 20-minute introductory Zoom call gives you a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together may feel right. The call is not a counselling session and there is no obligation to continue.

Questions you may be holding

Do I need to know exactly what I want to talk about?

No. We can begin with what you notice, what feels difficult or what has brought you here now. It is fine if the words or direction take time to emerge.

What if I have had a difficult experience with therapy before?

You are welcome to tell me as much or as little as feels useful. We can talk about what you found difficult and what might help counselling feel more comfortable and useful for you this time.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance to begin getting to know one another, talk about what has brought you to counselling and consider what you would like from our work. You do not have to share everything at once.

Can counselling help if I understand my feelings intellectually but struggle to feel or express them?

That can be a meaningful place to begin. Together, we can notice how you experience emotions, what makes them difficult to approach and what may support a gentler connection with them.

Can I choose online or face-to-face sessions?

Yes. I offer face-to-face sessions in Farnborough and online sessions across the UK. We can consider which format feels most comfortable and practical for you.
